So, you remember that one time when I was blown away at the pure awesomeness of witnessing a new life being brought into the world? Yeah, I still think about that session all the time. Definitely ranks up there as one of the best!

Well, good news for you! I am so excited that I am now officially offering Birth Stories as a new session type here at Amanda Barnes Photography!!

These are amazingly intimate sessions that document a time in your life that you never want to forget.  Having had two children myself, I wish more than anything that I could have had my births documented in this way. Birth photography is an opportunity for you, your husband, your mom, whoever, to put down the camera and be *in* the moment with you. It's an opportunity to allow you and your family to focus on the incredible miracle that you created, while I take care of creating artistic and beautiful images that will help you to relive the most amazing moment of your life.

And don't just take it from me, read what one Mom had to say about her experience...

"Oh my goodness! Let me first say... This isn't a photography session I always dreamed of having. I didn't spend 9 months researching birth stories and waiting for "game day" knowing how excited I'd be to have it all captured. At 8 months pregnant, Amanda asked me if it would be something I would be interested in doing. With it being my first baby, having NO idea what to expect, my immediate thought was thank you but no thank you. Then, I thought about it some more. The real reason I decided to do it was because I thought, "which would I regret more...having them or not having them?" I'm so grateful I made the right decision. Between all of the excitement, fear, epidural and adrenaline, the whole birthday feels like a blur and some times it's easy to solely remember the pain of the contractions. Our son was born purple-lipped and barely breathing, so to have pictures that remind me of more than just the trauma of the delivery is priceless! You get to relive all of the love bottled up in the wait for your precious baby over and over and over. Every picture brings joy... From remembering words my husband spoke over me through contractions, to the kiss my mom gave me before she left the room, to seeing what he looked like the first time he opened his eyes. I love them all. Amanda was incredible! For the most part, I didn't know she was in the room except for the few extra words of encouragement at impeccable timing. And we received the pictures while we were still in the hospital! I am overwhelmingly grateful. I will cherish every picture forever. And it's now on my "must have" list for the rest of my babies! Thank you beyond words, Amanda!!"

Wyni ::newborn::

Sweet, beautiful little Wyni...

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Wyni and her parents last weekend and it was such a wonderful opportunity.  She was such a sweetie and despite not wanting to sleep, she enjoyed just snuggling with Mommy and Daddy! Can't wait to watch this beautiful girl grow up!

Crawford ::newborn::

Dear, sweet, little Crawford! How you have stolen my heart! This precious little sweetie is who you may remember from this session.  He didn't feel like it was necessary to sleep much when I came to see him last Thursday, but you'd never know it from his pictures! He was an absolute doll baby! I loved getting to snuggle him!

Donnie and Nicole, he's one handsome little guy!! Enjoy him!
